Operant Conditioning Terms

the process by which a stimulus increases the chances that the preceding behavior will occur again
unwanted events that decrease the frequency of the behavior they follow when they are applied
learning to make a response in order to end an aversive (painful or aversive) stimulus
learning that occurs when making a particular response delays or prevents the onset of a painful or unpleasant stimulus
occurs when a response is followed with a reward or other positive event
occurs when a response is followed with an end to discomfort or with the removal of a negative state of affairs
learning based on the consequences of responding
